Yes, I dislike blogging. Immensely. I already write in my journal, so I don't really want to do it again. I am a punk. But, for the sake of my avid fans (read: family members without facebook....), I have to post some videos. The end. Then I will go lay myself down and quite possibly watch Pocahontas.

whoaaaaa...
Blogging! Haha!
It's because of our Staycation. Yes, I just used that word, but I'm so excited for it, it's not even funny. Daniel has a week off between quarters of Chiropractic school here at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. Instead of going somewhere for the whole week, we have bought CityPASSes, which include admission to World of Coca-Cola, CNN Headquarters, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, the Atlanta Aquarium, and the Atlanta Zoo. We're going to hopefully be hitting all of these up, and also going to South Carolina overnight to visit my aunt and uncle who are there right now. But, here's the scoop and me keeping all y'all posted! hahahahahahaha! (I laugh because you know how long I'll be on THIS kick...)
We decided to see the World of Coca-Cola Friday afternoon. It was a LOT of fun! We wandered around and saw lots of Coke memorabilia, then at the end, they have a "Taste Room" with flavors of Coke products from all over the world. Tyler loved this room the best. I, obviously, didn't get to participate in this part, but there were some interesting looking drinks. Tyler, Daniel, and Katie all got to try a little bit, then we each got our on souvenier Coke bottle. Kinda fun, except that Tyler kept asking us for Coca-Cola the rest of the night. He hasn't ever even tried any of the real thing! Haha! We had a super late dinner of delicious lasagna (provided by moi), then put the kids to bed.
Here are some pictures:
On our way!
Daddy Driving....
At the Grand Entrance... I guess... :)
I'm sensing a theme...
And yes, I will have a drink, thank you very much!
The 3-D glasses for the 4-D movie! Katie's glasses never quite made it on her. Tyler was pretty scared of the moving chairs and stuff, but Katie liked it a lot! My silly little girl!
With the Coca-Cola bear!
Our plan right now is to go to the Aquarium tomorrow! Here's to hoping Tyler doesn't want to bring a shark home...

some cute kids
It's official. The end. I have cute kids.
Now, let's see who recognizes what song Tyler is singing?
I was in the kitchen the other day doing dishes when I heard Tyler start to sing "I Am a Child of God." He had my music book of "old sad songs" open and was pretending to read the music. He loves to sing and is now starting to really enjoy Katie being around. He will play with her a lot, but mostly that involves him laughing like a maniac. That is a video for another time, though.
And there's this video of Katie. She is six months and one day old, now. I can't believe it--it's like overnight she's totally changed into this little girl, not just a baby. Granted, she still cries enough... ;)
The cutest part about this was that Katie, when I showed her the video afterwards, started to mimic everything on the video. When she grabbed her feed in the show, she'd grab her feet in real life, and don't even get me started on the arm flailing and leg-thumping! She makes me laugh right out loud sometimes!

Deck the Halls and other post-Christmasy subjects...
Heeeeeeeeeeey Shauna! Thanks for motivating me to do another blog for all two of you who read this. ;) This one's for you!
Christmas, I think, gets more and more fun as children grow up. Tyler was pretty fun last year but he didn't really get it all the way. This year, we introduced SANTA CLAUS, who Tyler still didn't get a whole lot. But, he understood that Santa gave out candy canes, and that was good enough for him. During our ward Christmas party, he even sat on Santa's lap!
Don't be fooled by his "what is this guy doing?" face (or the crazy flash-glare off of Santa's glasses)--Tyler loved seeing Santa!
Another of Tyler's new-found joys of Christmas was the decorating of the Christmas tree, anually done the Monday after Thanksgiving. He was big enough this year to really want to help, and boy did he help!
This is how it started:
The master at work:

The End Result!
Our tree was a rousing success, after the ornaments were balanced out a little better.... but at least we know that you can fit over 20 ornaments onto a branch!

Oh, blah dee, oh blah da
Here are a couple of cute things that Tyler has done recently that I need to write down just so that I remember they actually happened. Getting my journal done doesn't happen as easily as it once did....
1.) During the party after a baby blessing, Tyler discovered where we had stashed the cheese plate. He had ONLY eaten cheese that day and I had thought I had hidden it where he couldn't reach. haha! My mom called me over to look into the kitchen where all we could see was this little hand reaching over the island and *almost* touching the cheese. You know the whole reaching and only grabbing air thing? Yeah. Anyway, so as I watch Tyler comes around the Island (not seeing that I am there and observing) and he reaches up to get the cheese (which he can now reach, might I add). I quietly said "Tyler" and he jumps about four feet in the air and turns around with that "you caught me with my hand in the cookie jar" face. I couldn't stop laughing, although he didn't see the humor in the situation.
2.) The other day we made muffins and eggs for breakfast. I came into the kitchen to see the table set with these little cake pans and Tyler's silverware. I thought "hey. I guess Daniel didn't want to unload the dishwasher, so I was okay with the situation. When he finished frying the eggs, Daniel turned around and asked me why I had decided to set the table that way. I told him I hadn't, then we looked around and found Tyler patiently waiting.Apparently we weren't feeding him fast enough!
Well, my five minutes of alone time are up. Man, I wish I had more of that in a week!

Brother and sister
Life seems to be settling down, as you can tell from the fact that I actually posted something to the blog. But seriously--Katie went to bed at eight o'clock last night, woke up at four to eat, then slept until 8:15. Hallelujah!

This is Tyler and Grandpa Atkin at the BYU vs. Colorado State football game (9/26). We took both of the kids and, while Katie I'm sure could have pictured herself in a more comfortable atmosphere, Tyler seemed to enjoy it a lot. He came home the next day from church and informed us that he was in a football game. He bent down into a three-point stance, then waited for Daniel to tackle him. Hilarious!

My sweet boy swinging his sister. She has gotten more used to the swing because Tyler is usually there playing with her. Cute stuff.

After Katie's baby blessing on September 6th.

Tyler is always asking me if he can "feed Katie." Apparently he is "feeding Katie" here. :) At least he doesn't really try to feed her.

Oh. Wow.
So I was going through Daniel's laptop tonight after dinner (amid all of the dishes) when I found this delightful "embarassment to society" (direct quote from said laptop owner). It is a project I did when working for OACL at BYU. Please enjoy the randomness.
