Our Seattle Trip!

Well, the worst part of it is over. I have finally uploaded the pictures! :)

No, our trip to Seattle, Washington this year was really fun. This is the first time we've taken Tyler with us, although he didn't go to the football game with us. We had some friends in Seattle who were willing to help us and watch him. Yay! Anyway, we left on Wednesday, September 3rd, and drove to Twin Falls, ID, to spend some time with Daniel's sister and her family. And to break up the traveling time. It was nice to stay there and get a bit of a head start the next day. We drove for about 8 hours on Thursday and reached our Motel 6 (right by the airport--we could see the air traffic control tower from the parking lot!) around 9:00. Having had no dinner, Daniel decided to go and find some while I got Tyler ready for bed. You know you're in Seattle when EVerything is off of a freeway and, half the time, you find yourself on a freeway without ever having, well, gotten ON! So Daniel only got a little lost finding dinner, but he found his way home. Wahoo!

Friday was our sightseeing day! And what a day! I apparently need to go to Seattle more because I've never seen a rainy day there. So either Seattle-ians would appreciate me bringing the sun with me, or I would finally see what it would be like. Haha, just kidding about that last sentance. Anyway, we started off on foot, which was the least likely way for us to get lost. We parked our car for the day and walked down to the Seattle Aquarium right on the waterfront. They had a pretty sweet deal for admission and a harbor cruise ticket, so we got both. We wandered around the aquarium for a while before we took the cruise. Tyler enjoyed watching the fish and trying to get out of his stroller. But mostly, he enjoyed his sweet anemone squishy ball souvenier he got and managed to break in the car on the way home from the whole trip. Anyway, it kept him busy for a few days! :) We also got him a bib that says "Crabby when hungry" with a cartoon crab on it. haha, yeah, we're cool. Anyway, here are some pictures from the aquarium!

After going to the aquarium, we took the hour-long harbor cruise around Seattle. It was very relaxing and beautiful! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is going to go to Seattle. Here are the pictures for that:

Tyler, of course, slept through the entire thing. Sheesh.

After getting lost beyond all recognition, we decided to meet our friends, Kira and Jason Dayley, for dinner just in the middle of Seattle. We ate at Red Robin, right on the pier! What a fun dinner! Here we are, folks.



Walking back to the car, we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunset.




And Tyler enjoyed himself, too!



Saturday was the game!!!



It was a great game, and it was nice not to have to try and keep Tyler from getting splinters in the suspect wooden benches. We had a good view of the lake the Husky Stadium is on, but I couldn't get a good picture of it. It was nice to win, too, because Daniel and I had been wondering if we would EVER watch a season away game that we win. And that call had nothing to do with the blocked kick. Because we can block kicks! Las Vegas Bowl, BYU vs. UCLA 2008... etc. People, please.


To mark the end of our trip, we were generously reminded of the blood alcohol limit. I don't think we're in Provo anymore....
